The game in Uzbekistan certainly turned out to be a great experience. Despite being expected to finish bottom of the AFC Champions League group we found ourselves in, we came through to play Bunyodkor in the first of the knock-out stages & given that they had appeared in the last two semi finals, once again our progress was expected to be short lived.

After winning our first leg at Thunder Castle, in Buriram 2-1 last week, the pundits were still predicting we would meet our match once we arrived in the north west of Asia. However, after working hard in training, recovering well from our travels & preparing thoroughly for the task ahead, we managed to return home with a 0-0 draw, which now sees us through to the quarter final draw, which takes place on June 20th, 2013.

The welcome home we received from our fans was simply incredible. The noise was deafening as we entered the arrivals lounge & we were draped in flowers & flags...I can't wait until we actually win a title!!!

Back at Camp, I have been starting to put together a rehabilitation programme for one of our players who suffered a fractured radial head a few games back. Given the nature of football (or soccer for you Americans out there), hand & wrist injuries aren't the most common, so I have turned to basketball, martial arts & American football for my sports physiotherapy inspiration.

I came across some great clips on line & the one below involves a big bucket & a whole load of rice! So, have a look at this for some ideas for strengthening up your hands & forearms courtesy of a World Bench Press champion (I didn't even know one existed!!!).
