So tonight was the Diamond League meeting in Oslo & by all accounts a miserable night of weather greeted the athletes. Our GB guys flew out yesterday & had a mixed night of competition once they arrived.

Perri Shakes-Drayton continued her impressive start to the season with a silver in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.77 secs (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/athletics/13729760.stm), whilst Christian Malcolm finished 5th with a time of 20.57 secs in the 200m trailing in the wake of Usain Bolt's jet propelled feet which saw him over the line in a season's best time of 19.86 seconds (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/athletics/13719253.stm).

Jenny Meadows also finished 5th in the 800m race but that was enough to see her retain top spot in the Diamond League rankings – the race also saw Castor Semenya back on the international stage after her traumatic months following Beijing

Greg Rutherford & Chris “Tommo” Tomlinson & had a rather tricky night in the sand pit finishing 6th & 7th respectively, both failing to break 8m & despite a strong start, Andy Turner could do nothing in response to Aries Merritt's winning time of 13.12sec in the 100m hurdles.

Looking forward to the meet in New York on Saturday now!
